Hey guys went out to the lake this weekend. Had a knock recently when in drive and finally it went. Sounded like a blender with nuts and bolts turned on in my lower drive unit.. Anyways I have no gear now. Im assuming it has to be all in the lower drive unit. Im down in southern california and am looking for someone who is good and reasonable with outboards. I took the prop and lower gear case off so i can just drop that off. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.. Also wondering about how much it can be to replace the shafts or gears inside the case.. Thanks again..

Re: Need to fix my lower drive...

I am not sure what it would cost out in your area.....but I have spoken to two marine repair around my house on my lower unit. I am having only the reverse done on mine....and they have said on average it will run me about 600.00/700.00 to fix. This is with me giving them the lower unit off already. Granted this was a rough guess from them. Mine was also a 115hp mariner. I hope this helps a little.
