pulling bearing carrier -69 115hp

My 69 115hp (115983e) finally needs the prop seals changed, I've been soaking everything with the atf/acetone mix for the last week but I need to find a puller of some kind to get the bearing carrier out. Unfortunately mine is the one without the threaded holes. Where can I find old evinrude tools?

Does your exhaust housing have any threaded holes on the outside flange? If so you just need a 2 eared puller and the proper sized bolts. If no threaded holes, you need to make some long J bolts to go under the cast webbing and pull the housing out. Make sure to remove thr 4 bolts in the bottom of the housing. Install a new o-ring on assembly. Hope I didn't confuse you, easy for me to see it in my mind, hard to explain it with a keyboard. Another thought, I have had to use a little heat on the lower unit housing at times to remove the exhaust housing. DO NOT beak the housing, they are expensive.

Make a J-hook out of a long piece of threaded rod. Slip the hammer from a slide hammer tool onto the rod, then a nut on the end. Hook the J over the web and hammer away with the slide hammer to yank it out. You probably can rent a slide hammer tool from many auto parts stores.
