Hi guys, I have been reading your forums for a couple of years, first time posting a question. I rebuilt the carbs but did not replace the needle and seat assembly. (I should have.) After syncing the carbs and making all idle adjustments I got it to idle decently. Went down to the lake, boat ran fine at low speed and even high seed for a while, then it started to lose power to the point that at wot it would barely run, as if it were skipping or not taking gas. Now my question, I did a compression check with throttle plates at idle position before I rebuilt the carbs, 150 both cylinders. When I got home from the lake (where I experienced probs) I did another compression check and got 150 top, 130 bottom. Not sure what damaged the bottom cylinder. These carbs have fixed high-speed jets. Also replaced the coils; both had cracks in them. In the process of going through carbs again, definitely need needle and seat assy. The bottom seat is almost non existent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On your carb rebuild, did you remove ALL the jets and clean and blow out all the passages with compressed air? It sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem.

I pulled all aluminum plugs out of carb body, removed the low speed idle screws.Did not remove the screwed in high speed jet,but removed the outside cover to gain access to jet and blew out with carb cleaner. However yesterday I removed the high speed jet and cleaned them. I am waiting for my idle speed needle and seat assy.to come so I can install them....Tim
