125 force water pump not pumping

I have a 125 force 87 i have installed a new water pump but i dont seam to have any water i took the plug out of the top of the head were the tel tail can be installed i thought that if i did that the water would shoot out of it but not a thing. checked the tstat seams to be working fine . what else do i need to check ? any help would be app. thanks

Hi, I've had trouble with mine pumping when on muffs. Seems they leak so much and the inlet is on the round portion of the lower unit. I use a large storage tub, I fill it up so the water level is as high as the water pump and it pumps fine. Try that with yours, if it still don't pump you might need to drop the lower unit and check the pump. Good luck let us know what you find

i doped the lower unit back off everything seems to be fine here are a couple of
pics [/ATTACH].is the impeller going the right way and i was wondering if the plastic on the water tube guide to worn.

Hi, I have a Force 120 ,before I changed the impeller...the water would came out to the peehole , the reason I changed it, because it quit peeing water at the peehole.after I've changed it..it still wont with the water cup, but I took it to the water...and ran the engine it squirted out..and when coming back to the no wake zone...the water still peeing. so, maybe you can try that and see

I had this problem at the beginning of the season after changing mine. I used muffs and when I had the hose pressure up it wouldn?t pee, I turned down the hose pressure a little so it wasn?t spraying like crazy and it peed, go figure?????. Once on the water didn?t have any problem!!!

That is until the end of the season when I blew my lower unit. So opens the big hole in the water that I throw my money into.

The pump only turns 1 way and yours looks fine. Did it pump ok before and got worse? You can try this, pull the plug on the top of the head and with a funnel, pour some water in and see where it comes out. If its been out of the water for a while, spiders and bees love to make nests. If its been a saltwater motor could have salt deposits. You can pull the thermostat cover and temp run with out it, to see if water circulates. A good pump will start within 15 seconds when in the water, so don't run it long with out water, I also use a little light grease(water soluable) on the impellor to aid in priming

Silly question the key on the shaft is there? the impellor does lock onto the shaft?

thanks for the advice i ran it in the tub and it pumps just fine.
