Feels like its a car clutch slipping !!!!

I have a 1993 MERC 4.3LX with an Alpha Gen 2 drive. The last two times out I have noticed that right after i slow down from high speeds (close to WOT) & then go to throttle back up again, it feels like im driving a car with the clutch slipping. The engines RPM's are climbing but the drive/prop is not turning fast enough or keeping up with the engines RPM's. After a few seconds or more, the drive/prop does catch up to the engines RPM's and then i have no problems once im going. I have never heard any clunks or smelled burned rubber and there is never any strange noises when this happens. I do have my drive trimmed up a bit but not to the point where its at the automatic stopping point before it goes into the trailer tilt mode. I didn't think it was prop Cavitation because i never hear the prop coming out of the water or feel the prop slipping in the water once im at a higher speed/rpm. Its only happening when i come off from high speeds and then throttle back up again. Any ideas what this could be ?

Try trimming your drive all the way down if it is still happening check to see if your hub is spun on the prop.

to check for a spun hub put a mark that goes straight across the prop and hub take it out and run it as usual and then check to see if the marks are still lined up if they are not you need to get a new hub pressed in.

The prop and hub is a year old, Is it possible to have a spun hub without ever hitting anything ? My prop is aluminum with no marks/nicks on it.
