how should i fix a small gash in my fiberglass boat?

Looking for some tips about what i should do. its about a quarter size indent in the fiberglass. it does not go all the way through but it still leaks.

Do you have a digital camera where you can take a pic and put it in your computer so we can see?? what color is that part of boat with the indentation(white) ?? Just trying to get i little more info

yeah i can get a picture of it tomorrow to post. its white where the indent is. i have a fiberglass resin gel to use and strips also.

with the marine-tex would i still need to use a fiberglass strip too? or just fill with putty.

A quarter size hole, You should make sure it's cleaned real good and it should still bond, you said it was leaking too?

yeah it is leaking. i was planing on putting on a new gel coat all over and repainting too. this is the first boat i have worked on,so i figured i would get all the advice i could before gettin into it.

Have you been to the "Boat restoration and Building" forum here on Iboats?? You should go there and read up on some of the work done also look up, see the "search" click on that and type in "marinetex" and you can read what other people have done in the same simular situation, very informative!!
