I go out pretty much anytime the weather and my schedule allow.
This summer has been pretty rough, lots of rain and storms and not enough days off. But so far I think I've still been out about 30 or so times, even if those times were cut short by bad weather.
I go fishing once a week. If I miss a week I make it up the next { wife thinks I'm nuts' and I am about about fishing} Hey after all if you can do it why not?
Pretty much whenever I can....I think this works out to 10 - 15 times per year, plus a week at the cottage up north.
I'm 10 minutes from Hamilton Harbour / Lake Ontario, 20 minutes from the Grand River in Caledonia. So I'm close to water and my boat in kept in my garage ready to go in an instant.
Well it seems many areas have had a poor summer for anything good weather related.
Here in Ontario we have what I would consider shorter boating seasons added to that. Add to that our family schedule and we haven't hit the water till the July 1st weekend the past 2 yrs. We have a couple man made lakes within an hours drive that we have hit for 10 days so far this season, add to that a week or cottage rental being on the boat for average 6-8 hrs a day for 5 out of 7 days and just last week 4 days with 6-8 hrs a day on the water while camping. I think we average around 120 hrs or so use. Pretty good considering the local lakes are to low after Labour day to do much boating safely.
Living in Florida and across the street from the lake what can I say. We really enjoy evening rides after dinner now that it is a little cooler, only in the mid 80's vs the mid 90's.
well I keep my boat tied up out back and so far this year I have put about 30 hours on it, of course if the weather is nice I am working and when its not its to nasty to boat. so far since may I have taken 7 days off. I have had the boat 2 years and logged 109 hours on it.
the other boat has a 175 e-tec that I bought in nov 06 has about 22 hours on it.
when ya work on these silly things for a living its sometimes hard to get enthused about boating on a rare day off .
