Azlo,
Nice flip, or is it flipping nice. What ever.
Very well done.
I want to flip mine but I'm not sure I have the nerve for it.
Nice work

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

all my friends are kind of freeloaders. I would have to stock the fridge with beer, food and god knows what. haha

You too huh?

I'm expecting to start getting phone calls about taking the rig out...but haven't seen some of my buddies in a while...apparently they have work allergies that are bad this time of year:D

Well executed flip, and I can't wait to see your final paint scheme!

Was feeling good today so went ahead & striped one the side rails (gunnels?)

Took all chrome & moldings off.

Noticed that some starcrafts don't have this molding here. I wonder if I left out how it will look.

I was a little worried this week end, my plan was to sand blast my hull. So i did some reading & some research. SOo i went ahead & did it. No warpness what so ever. I think the trick was to blast at an angle & reduce the media by reducing the opening of the syphon. But in reality i think it was the bracing & reinforcement on the hull.

Will finish the sandblasting next weekend and then some metal prep.

Sure looks easier than the stripping fun I went thru..some came off with a sneeze, others a flame thrower probably wouldn't of made much difference....

Hey fellas, do a quick calculation on how much you have spent on fishing gear. Hundreds? Thousands?

Well, check it out. Azlo and the guys he hangs out with has them eating right out of his hand!!!!

Hahahaha, Justoutside u made my morning. Actually we reeled it in & it was to heavy to pick it up with the weak line so my bro tried to grab it by the gills to pick up, while grabbing the fishing line and then ,,,,,it snapped. but we were not noodling or anything like that.

HopeSheFloats nice dash.

I remember the last time I was in a bar and ordered 5 shots of tequila. The bartender was looking at me kind of crazy because I was gulping them. He says "hey whats with the fast drinking" I told him " man if u only knew what i had"
"you found out u have a disease or something" he replied. "No I only have 50 cents." :D

I like that. :)

We were gulping them too but switched over to water and lime juice by the end to rehydrate. Didn't feel like someone was playing football with my head the next morming.

Didn't have a chance to work on it this week end. Had to work on a mothers day project that I didn't finish. But i bought tools that will definitely come in handy for my project. Since I don't have 220 in my garage I have to settle for low end tools like my compressor & so on. But I am impressed with this box.

Its an 80 amp inverter arc welder. I'm impressed, keep in mind i never welded in my life but i will gain experience with it. Like this weld.

Very nasty right. This will definitely come in handy on my trailer.

Second tool is my gravity fed spray gun. I'm surprised at how little it used my comp. Very nice.

This is an antique wood burning stove that my mother wanted to repair. Weld it and painted. I am a good son

I had also ran out of sand from sandblasting, so i had to finish the rest with my grinder & wire wheels.

Im trying to get around ALL the rivets and Im glad I did because i found this.

Something like this HSF. But I think im gonna reverse the color scheme. White where the blue is & blue where the white is.
MAH001454.jpg

But i know my Imagination will get me in trouble. I never painted before so im gonna have to practice at it too and then if thats not enough i dont have the patience to prep like i would want. I see hard times for me, s.o.b.

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

All the stinking prep is what takes the time. I should have sanded my high build epoxy primer before rolling the bottom paint but I didn't. The paint has really stuck but there are imperfections. I also should have sprayed but I was working off my back under the trailer so that option really wasn't there. The selection of bottom paint was perfect but could have turned out better.

In hindsight I should have let a friend who paints cars as a hobby do it. Close enough for bottom paint.

If you have a decent enough spot to do it and the temp is right then it should turn out as many others have done it.
