I have a 1999 mercruiser 5.7l carb model with a bravo III. (Thrunderbold 5 ignition) I have been looking through my manual and can't find anything about timing advance due to vacuum. Unfortunatly my boat is 200 miles away so I can't go look at it.

Are there vacuum lines on this motor? If so does anyone know of a routing diagram?

Does anyone know of a good article that describe the priciples of advancing timing due to intake vacuum?

Thanks for any help

Re: Vacuum Lines

Marine engines don't use vacuum to advance timing. If your distributor has a vacuum advance unit on it, it is not a marine distributor.
