Just bought a 1957 QD-18 10hp in seemingly good condition. Put in a bucket of water, some bluish fluid started to appear floating in small pools on top of the water. Got it running ok. When I removed it from the bucket, found that a small weap hole was oozing/bubbling slowly this bluish fluid. The hole is on the front facing side, just below the lower unit seal...which is about 2 inches above the cavitation plate. It continued to ooze/bubble for 30 minutes or so. The hole appears as though it should be there, but the leaking does not seem ok. The seller listed the following work was recently done, so I don't want to tear into it if this is just something I should expect...just doesn't seem right.
{Work included Rebuilding the Lower unit. All new lowerunit seals were installed and a new water pump was put in during rebuild of the lower unit. Ignition was taken apart and gone through Coils are used but tested good. Points are in good working order New condensers were installed along with new Champion Spark Plugs. Carb was taken apart and cleaned and found to be in good working order}
