Hi Paul, welcome to I boats. Strange problem, the only thing that jogging the trim will do is lower the battery voltage momentarily and change the position of the engine. You could have a wire shorting out. Can you give more information? What rpm is this happening at, how does it hesitate, what does it sound like when it hesitates. Is this a new problem or a new engine to you with a problem.

As for the stud I don,t think it is available as a part, a machine shop will be able to make one for you but the challenge will be getting the old one out.

Dave it seems to have the issue at all rpms, hard to tell at idle and slower rpms though. it sounds like a misfiring engine when it occurs like a bad plug or something. the wires and plugs are new so i've ruled them out. thanks

What did you use for the new wires? It must be solid core wire, not resistance wire. Talking about plug wires here, not the general wiring.
