Volvo trim control unit blinking... what does it mean?

I have trim control unit on my 5.7Gi/SX. P/N is 3851584. I have trim controls at the dash, but no gauge/indicator. The control unit (aft, mounted next to the hydraulic motor) has 3 LEDs - red, yellow, green. It's flashing quickly and non-stop: red and green together, then yellow alone, repeated over and over. I can't seem to find any info on how to decipher what this means - any help?

That number doesn't work, got a full model number or a SN for the engine?

Model: 5.7Gi PLKDCE. I believe it's a 1996 motor.
S/N 4110144131

are you sure its a trim controller, never heard of it on the SX but that list grows daily.
could it be the active corrosion protection,if equipped,malfunctioning.
I cant remember enough of the details from memory on how the active corrosion system works or even what name volvo gave it.
we see more on the mercs than the volvos.

There really isn't much information out there on those systems, and were only used for a few years, and had lots of problems.
Corroded connectons, low voltage and bad trim senders were the usually cause of problems.
You actually need this manual (http://www.4shared.com/file/90081683/932412fa/7797362_LK_Ign_Electrical.html) for your engine, but this one http://www.4shared.com/file/90204285/372805eb/7797452_BY_Elect_Ign.html is a little clearer and easier to understand.

After a rough ride on Georgia Straight My trim stopped working, And the leds were flashing. Had someone keep an eye on the trim guage and did the wiggle test, finally found the trim sender wire conection was loose.
