Looking to buy this boat

I am looking at buy this boat from a friend, there is no motor with it, just wondering a good recommendation for an inexpesive reliable motor, and I'm new to the whole scene this would take an outboard motor right?

I just read your other post and I dont think this is the boat you are truly looking for. For a grand or so you can find many boats that run and are good starter boats, heck I just sold a Glastron 18' open bow that ran great for 950 bucks. I would say keep looking and take your time.

+2 on keeping looking.
Looks like that would be rated for 40-50 hp. You'd want anywhere from 35-50. So your probably looking at 1k for a good running older motor. THere really is no such thing as a good reliable inexpensive motor. So he'd be 1400 in it without knowing if it needed a new deck, transom, ect.
