I usually listen to XM radio, channel 54, Lithium. Or plug in my iPod, which is mostly alternative with some rock and bluesy rock like SRV.

But my tastes are eclectic, from Eminem to Kid Rock to Janes Addiction and Nirvana.

Nothing like tearing across the lake going 45 with the radio blasting out my dual Infinity 600m tower speakers to get my SEG going.

wakeboard tower speakers? someone on my lake has them, and they are still louder than my 200 watt system over 2 miles away. I got mad and went and grabbed my old sony reciever and 2 300 watt 3 way 80's speakers + an inverter. I had to look back to verify the motor was running

Yeah, sorry about that. When you're thinking of these polls, a couple suggestions slip your mind until it's too late.

Don't get me wrong, I love listening to music on the boat, but why in the world would you want to have an extremely loud audio system on the boat? I like it just loud enough to drown out the noise of kids fighting, but being that loud, wouldn't it give you a headache? In my entire life, I've had one "system" in one car. That was my Caddy SLS, but I learned the hard way that most Northstar engines bite the dust at exactly 100k miles. That system was rather annoying, to be quite honest, especially when I knew nothing of some new noise ordinance and got stuck paying an $80 ticket. I thought you got a warning the first time. . Well, needless to say, the system came out shortly after that.

super loud stereos drive me crazy too... i have a pioneer headunit and speakers in my car. i cant stand to crank it too far... i just have it for hd radio and ipod

There wasn't a classical music options. My kids like listening to classical music and drinking their tea on the high seas. It reminds them of the cruise. Then they will plug in their MP3 players and get some good old time music. Fortunately they do not listen to CRAP sorry I mean RAP.

I have a sport boat and when I am whipping across the lake the factory speakers in back cannot be heard by the skipper, let alone the two sitting in front at the bow. Our lake is large by our standards, so we often are running 30 minutes getting from point to point, its nice to hear some tunes as we are getting there. I make certain (I think) not to annoy those around me, I have a remote near me and adjust the volume as appropriate. If I had a Lamborgini I still would keep it at the speed limit. Well, at least most of the time.

But I have no little kids to drown out, both of mine are over 21, so to each his own.

That sounds pretty good and I just love that JohnnyRude moniker.
I don't play my stereo loud and I have some tiny weak speakers on my boat but it is nice to lightly play in the backround at rest.
At cruise anything above 2500 rpms the engine pretty much downs out the stereo noise.

I have a 35 year old smog dog Chevy straight six, it sings no good tunes no matter the speed.......:redface:

Nothing.

I even find my 10hp 4 stroke annoying enough while fishing that I've switched to mostly trolling with an electric.

The only sound I want to hear is the drag on my reel.

On the pontoon while fishing - MN Twins Baseball (hopefully they are playing) or KFAN (sports talk).

On the speed boat - Unfortunatly usually Hip Hop because the ladies like it. Fortunaltly we take out the pontoon way more then the speed boat.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, he turns the lake into the beach and my little girl (two years old) likes to dance the Hula to it while standing on the swim platform.
