I have been having a problem with my motor. it starts up and runs great for awhile and after running at about 3/4 throttle for awhile it just dies. I have done the basics new plugs fresh fuel cleaned the filter witch didnt even look dirty. I then tried to start it and all it would do is turn over I did also check for spark and it seems to have good spark and compression I then tried a shot of starting fluid and it worked. I ran the boat all day with no problems went back the next day and same thing I ran about a mile out at 3/4 throttle and it died again. oh yeah the vent is open and from what I can tell the line all look good. does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks Tomedwil

starting fluid is rough on the motor. you need to fix up an old shampoo squirt bottle with some two stroke gas/oil mix to give it some extra fuel. The starting fluid has zero oil in it to lube the motor . On the dying out part ,you might want to look at the fuel pump and check valves, the alcohol in the fuel now days is murder on these two things and rubber fuel lines. moparman

I have a question that is similar to yours. I have a 97" 75 hp. Force and I was running down the lake when it just started loosing power. It will start and everything seems like it is ok, but it will only run at half power. I got the compression checked and it was fine, I changed the spark plugs, and I still can't seem to find out what to do. Any One have any suggestions on that.

I apologize as I am new hear and I am very limited in my mechanical skills, but very interested in learning. Where would the tank vent be? I am going put a new primer bulb on there. Someone stated there could be a small crack in the line.
