Anyone been to Lake Mary AZ.
How is the boating conditions there.
How is the boating conditions there.
just got home from flagstaff yesterday, son lives there.
the canyon, little colorado, snowbowl, the canyon caverns, wupatki, sunset crater, sedona and even got a chance to talk to a couple of rattle snakes.
the hopi ruins were amazing.
close to n.m. border hit something in the road while going by two trucks and one just behind us.
cut 3 tires, blew one, bent the drive shaft, ripped a hole in the floor pan under the drivers seat about 8"x3", bent the gas tank plus a bunch of bent spots in the floor pan.
changed the flat then limped in about 30 mph to gallup.
hit walmart and got all new tires.
the yard in albuquerque charged us $200 for an 07 drive shaft including shipping.
gallup transmission put it in for us and checked the car over to make sure it was safe enough to get us home.
gallup transmission didn't charge us anything at all and told us good luck and god bless.
we did give the mechanic $40 and will be sending them something for appreciation.
they are the best in the world in my book.
sorry i know nothing about the lake, take care.
Holy crap!!!!! what the h$4 did you hit?Glad no one was hurt.
Thanks for the Replies.
Ok I went to visit Lake Mary and did some kayaking. There were several small deep V ski boats and Flat bottom fishing boats. Even some wave runners. Nice lake and very scenic. It was shallow in some area's so you have to pay attention to the buoys. I couldn't tell the depth of the water but it appears you have to stay pretty much out in the middle if you are pulling tubes or skiers.
I think I will just plan on using this lake for Kayaks and let the kids play on the shore. I have plenty of lakes in the PHX area to do some heavy boating.
alumi numb sorry for the bad luck.
i have a very small fishing boat how was the fishing and did you have any problems with the wakes while on your kayak? going to try it next summer for a weekend trip from vegas
There's really nothing north of Roosevelt thats really suitable for good boating until you get to Powell. I grew up south of Lake Mary in Happy Jack. Spent my whole life fishing all the lakes around there. Great fishing just not much for boating. Even when the Upper was full you could only ski one way, then you had to get back in the boat and start over.
Lived at the "Lodge" for a number of years until we got a house. It was still a logging camp then. Lived up in the small houses that are the rentals now. The main lodge was the mechanic shop where my dad worked. Times were good then. Us kids could take a 22 or a fishing pole and be gone all day without a worry from anyone. My parents are still in the area and we still do alot of fishing around there.
My grandfather pretty well stocked every stock tank around there with cats for us kids to fish.
