I'm not familiar enough with your specific boat to guess, but one of the others probably will know. But you don't mention what trailer you have. And it's tongue weight will depend entirely on how far forward you have the boat sitting on the trailer. Tongue weight is easy enough to figure out though. Set the tongue on a bathroom scale. Assuming your rig has doesn't have a tongue weight that exceeds the limit of the scale, that should get you close.

I believe it is the original trailer, a ShoreLander roller, 3 sets of rollers on each side. Boat lists on Nada as dry weight of only 650lbs.

1650 maybe but definitely not a 650# boat. Conservatively let's say the boat is 1500, the trailer is 500, and the engine is about 250. That puts you in the 2300 - 2500# range with a bone dry boat. No battery, no fuel, no gear, no anchor, etc. Add up that stuff and you will find the total to be in the 2700# range.

1650? Really? Wow, that sounds awful high for a 16 foot tin boat. As I mentioned, NADA lists it as 650, which of course must be dry weight. I don't mean to dispute you, just hoping some more might "weigh in" on the topic:D

That hull empty might go 650, but add deck, carpet, seats, helm, windshield, wires, troller, motor, cables, fuel cell, etc. Then add fuel, gear, tackle, cooler, extras. See where things start adding up? Best bet is to take it to a quarry and have it weighed. If you are looking for dry weight, take everything out of it, fill the tank with fuel, then subtract fuel weight. That will give you a fairly accurate idea.

I would say silvertip is really close.

Re: Give me a guess

This boat has a full windshield which automatically adds a bunch of weight. One of my boats is a 16 foot Mirrocraft side console and it was 800#. My alumacraft Navigator 165CS, also a side console is 1100#. Both are tin boats. To end this discussion and speculation there is a simple way to determine the weight. Weigh it.

Easiest way to check that is pull in to a truck weigh station. Unless the operator was weaned on a pickle, if there is no lineup, he/she would let you drive onto the scale and you have the exact numbers.

Re: Give me a guess

No way that 16 footer weighs in at 1650 Ib's. My old built-like-a-tank 16ft deep V fiberglass only weighed in at 1200 Ib (+/-) dry weight.

My guess is that 650 is about right for the boat. Add 250-300 for the motor, 350-500 for the trailer and 200 Ib for battery and fuel and another 100 for "stuff" on board. Puts you around 1600 Ib. BUT, the only way to really know is to get it weighed. You should know how much weight you are pulling.
