Hi. I am hoping someone can answer this question for me. I have a 1982 115 hp Evinrude which needs a re-build. However, the other day I found a well taken care of 1975 115 hp Evinrude. Everything seems the same except the 75 does not have power tilt and trim. Compression is good and it runs well. I was wondering if anyone new whether I could swap the two powerheads. They look like they are interchangeable with each other but I am not sure. Both have mechanical shifters, etc. Any idea's about this possibility? Thanks.

Some of the kibbles and bits look different but the block looks the same. I am no expert in 115 and powerhead year swaps. Someone else could probably tell you. I know evinrude didn't change the block much from 74-92 on the 9.9.
