What engine is this?

This is in a 1986 Bayliner Capri 2150 bowrider. Valve cover has "Volvo Penta 225E" on it and there is what might be a serial tag that says "CU 55226".

Thats right AQ225E. 305 Chevy with four barrel Qjet Carb 225 Hp. Identical to mine except mine is a 350. Both are good power.

Abandoned. If this engine is good, I'll restore it.

Anther question since you have nearly the same engine...in another post (which I will update if this one yeilds my answer) I asked about the location of where the positive battery cable connects (I assume the starter). I got a very desciptive answer but still cant find it (the starter). Based on the pic I attached maybe I could find it with a description related to that?

The positive cable would go on the solinoid which is mounted to the starter motor. The big terminal on the solinoid. That terminal would have a couple smaller wires connected to it as well.

Helps a lot thanks but the location still eludes me. I have attached a pic of where it was described to live...Low, aft, starboard.

Am I looking in the right place?

Thats right. If you follow the dipstick down it right by the bottom of the dipstick.

Remember just because you manage to get the engine to turn, doesn't mean it's good. What your plan? Maybe we can help.

Mystery solved. Got in upside down determined to find it. Saw the flywheel and no starter. Found the starter under a seat.

Plans...Test starter (assume it's bad since it was removed). Put starter on and test engine and outdrive. They both actually look very good. If they run and the hull checks out I'll replace some flooring, clean her up and put in at the lake.
