Anyone know how to test these? Seems like the limit switch would be an on-off microswitch and the sender would be a potentiometer (variable resistor).

Any info is appreciated.

I do, but since I have no idea what you have, I ain't gonna explain them all.

If you want to ask lots of questions, why don't you just put your type of engine, and drive along with SN and model numbers in your signature. Then we wouldn't have to ask.

Head up to the Adults only sticky at the top of this forum. Download the service manual for your drive. #6 is the one you want. It has all the info you need to troubleshoot and replace if needed.
Those senders go bad all the time.

I found a few pages (4A-10 thru 12) on installation and adjustment, but nothing yet on testing. I'll keep perusing.

Thats exactly what they are. The trim limiter is not really a microswitch though, its a phenolic disc with some sort of metal film on it, and a pair of wiper contacts. When it rotates up so far, it breaks the connection. Drive down, its closed, drive up past a certain point it opens. The other one should change resistance as you raise the drive.
