My 60 hp 3 cyl, not sure of year . mid 70s was taken to lake yesterday for first time. I ran it with ears for few hours with no problems but in the lake wouldn't start and when I took cover off and cranked it , water in droplets came out of all three carbs, fresh gas , and no water in gas. It didn't lock up so can't be getting in cyl. Help.. it ran great with the ears on. What is the difference in the water flow from the ears to water ? thanks

Re: water in carb

Back pressure is the difference. If you have water in the carb. the most likely source is your gas. I would try to add some methyl hydrate to the gas and see if that helps. Best of luck. Rick.

Pull the 7/16 plugs out of front of carbs and pump primer bulb, do you get water out of bowel, if so you have water in your gas.

Yup, I fixed it , what happened was the engine was tilted on trailer for run to lake . 30 miles on bouncy road. What water was in bottom of bowl ran into air inlet of carb. Thanks for help
