I believe these switches are important, one is called the shift assist switch and the one on the right side is something else i think. Anyway, where would i pick something like this up?

both switches had their wires cut.

I am also in the market for a gasket kit for this thing. I took off the drive unit and need the gasket that goes between the drive unit and transom. This is my first boat and I am just about to pull engine. This is a 1992 17foot chris craft boat which originally had a 4 cylinder.

The transplanted V8 is quite a bit older than boat. serial number on motor says mercury 44698-34. I think this is a 302, an 888 model made sometime between 71 and 83. Any help is appreciated since the switches on the throttle/shift plate in the picture are disconnected.

Those switches are NLA,(No Longer Available) and have been for many years now. Good luck finding used ones.

here's a thread that someone R&Red the obsolete nla micro swith with something that is moderen and how they went about doing it... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=290793

if the wires are cut. fig. a way to hook them back up. the nla switch may still be good.

ya can get gasket sets here on iboats. or ya can go to your local mercuriser dealer and get the real mercruiser gaskets.

Your pix shows the interrupt switch(on the left) has the wires going to the terminal block. Attach a meter and push the SS lever and see if it makes and breaks the connection.

The bigger lever on the right has the reverse lockout valve on the 'hub'.
