I pressure tested my manifold. There are no leaks. That's good.
You can see from these pictures that there is considerable erosion around the #4 cylinder mating surface, as compared to the #2, also shown.
The Quicksilver manifold is $900. An aftermarket company called GLM is going to start making these, and they'll retail at around $350, but they are at least a year away according to one of their distributors.
So, I think this manifold will work despite the thin gasket surface area, at least for a while. Hopefully, it will last until these GLMs are offered.
Can an adept aluminum welder add some metal to the eroded areas, or would this stress and crack manifold?
