Ok so i had my boat out all day yesterday and it ran prefect, i went to launch it today and noticed that it got hot really quick, i shut it down and went to go check my outdrive to see if it was wrapped in sea weed, i pulled quite a bit off of it but it still kept getting hot

when i got pulled back into the launch i couldnt get my outdrive up there was no fluid in the outdrive it was just hanging down. it looks like the hydraulic fluid leaked out in the bilge somehow

what could of happened?

Just a guess, but when you overheated you burned thru a hyd. hose for the trim

Only takes a few seconds to destroy a impeller when the water is shut off.

ok a little update here:

went out and looked at it and found out that the hydraulic line from the trim actually melted on the exhaust which caused it to leak.

now as for the impeller i saw that its not that expensive of a part, should i go ahead and look into replacing it right away or is there any tests i can do so im not just throwing parts at it trying to fix it?

A quick test I use is remove the inlet hose from the therm housing, put the muffs on, turn on the water.
Should be none passing thru the pump if all the vanes are intact and not destroyed from the heat..
