I bought a lower unit seal kit for my 1974 25 hp Evinrude Outboard, but I'm a little confused as to where all the seals go to. I do have a repair manual, but it doesn't really show where they go. The kit came with 4 seals (two bigger ones and two smaller ones), a couple o rings and the spaghetti seal. I know the spaghetti seal is for inbetween the skeg cap, and a seal goes into the bearing carrier that sits on the end of the prop shaft ( and also an O ring goes around that bearing as well ), but where would the other seals go? Is it up under the impeller housing? Are the bigger and smaller seals combined to make one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have 2 seals back to back on the prop shaft and under the water pump around the vertical shaft. Go to evinrudes site and look at a parts breakdown for your engine, maybe it will help.

And the large fat O ring is the shifter O ring that also needs to be replaced. Search the forum on how to make a simple tool to remove the bushing that holds that O ring in.
