1975 mercury 850 (85 hp)

Need to know exact location of where rectifier was mounted as i am beating the marine mechanic out of 850 dollars in labor to replace almost all of my main electrical parts. when i got this motor the stator wires were cut and the rectifier was gone since the i have ordered a new internal wiring harness and rectifier just need to know where it mounts exactly please help

The rectifier looks to be the large older style on that motor. it was likely installed on the starboard front lower cowling.

The newer 1 inch square rectifiers can be installed on the front cowling support below and to the starboard side of the switchbox.
