Re: Do you guys use your safety lanyard?
I never use to wear the lanyard, due to the limited range of movement that it allows. However, after getting my current boat, a 22' Sea Cat, I became worried about being tossed out at speed, but still had the same limited range of movement.
I found the Autotether wireless lanyard system, bought that and a new inflatable PFD to install it on and now I can boat with confidence. By getting into the habit of wearing them on every trip, I have pushed past being "embarrassed" and feel really good about it. ]
Attached the other one to my wife's "fanny pack" PFD. and she even wears her's.
The neat thing is that the Autotether kept me from leaving my PFD in a restaurant after I wore it in, took it off and forgot it on the chair. It5 shut off my engines because it was out side it's range. Great anti-theft feature!!
(No, there is no monetary reason for this response. But I do reccommend them to the students in my boating safety classes.)
