Hello,
I found this site after buying a 15.6 ft. Kingfisher boat that had a 35 hp javelin on it. The motor fires up after about two seconds of cranking and runs great. It is a RJE-19 which if I have my info right is a 1957 model. Serial number 1554804. I plan on using it on the river and lakes nearby until the weather cools off. Then it will be time to repaint the motor and fill in the chips/cracks on the hull and new paint. I added some pics for fun. The chrome looks crappy in the pics but its mostly dust.

chrome crappy?? it looks great!

it would be interesting to see if the pros here might think its more valuable as a collector motor with original paints. if there was a market for classic restorations, i'd think this a prime find.

Man that is one sweet looking motor. I'll bet you have a bunch of collectors that would love to own it as is. I really don't know if I would use it or restore to running condition leaving exterior as is and saving as a really great one of a kind find. (Leaving exterior original always enhances value and the allure of an old motor.) Think about 1957-2009, that's a whole bunch of years.

Have a good one ya'll

Unless it is a trick of the camera, it has already been repainted. It is supposed to be more gold colored than that. If you do decide to restore it, at least get it the right color.

Its no trick. The previous owner had sprayed it with chocolate krylon. I do want to get it back to original. Im not having luck on finding some of the cosmetic parts.
