Re: Chipmunks

dont give me that bs. what is rat poison. so i gues this is ok. think about it peta guy..

Point is, you're the one who stirred up trouble. You didn't have any post questioning the need to get rid of chipmunks, but you had to start in ripping into PETA people.

I'm pretty animal friendly--vegetarian and all that. About as close to a "PETA guy" as you'll see on this forum. At the same time, I realize that sometimes folks have to get rid of pests. Your post seemed engineered to **** off folks like me, when there's no reason whatsoever to do so.

If the Peta folks start making trouble, that's the time to respond to them in a thread. Preemptive strikes are ridiculous.

How can you have so many living in such a small area? We have maybe 6 on our one acre property, and they are always fighting. I dont mind having them around, the dog likes them and they cause me no trouble.

Yes that PETA comment was not necessary. I too am a member of Peta; People Eating Tasty Animals. :p

X3 on the outdoor cat idea. My friend had three (Ex wife left them) and he didnt really feed them all that much but gave them a warm spot in the garage to sleep so they stuck around.

after a short while there were no more of anything around the property. He fed them just enough to keep them around, but hungry for more.

Re: Chipmunks

I can't believe this.....I have never seen a chipmonk in my life.......but!!, as there are so many, are they in fact Chipettes?

I thought there were only 3 chipmonks....Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

Go for the rat bait.
Here I have to have 'bait-stations' which I make up and they work a treat, and eliminate accidental poisoning of others.
Let me know if you want the 'plans'.

Love the dog Spots.

Cheers

Rat poison doesn't work. It seems they take it and put it away to be eaten later along with other seds/nuts etc., and by the time they actually do each the poison it has lost most of it's strength.

I like the fox urine idea. We had a male dog that marked every blade of grass and it is after he left us that the chipmunk population increased. I now also have skunks living somewhere close. The last 2 nights our sentry lights were triggered and it was skunks. Last night one was on the front porch.
