Do I need a new set of Controls

I have a 190 Malibu162 boat witha 70 Hp yamaha 2 stroke. The engine is toast. I am considering buying a new 90 Hp Yamaha. DO I need new controls?
Is it an easy swap?

The current control box is a Yamaha 703.
Anyone ?
I would appreciate any assistance.

I'm 99% sure the controls are exactly the same for both motors Hopefully one of the other guys here will put in that other 1%. Good Luck!

as long as your control box main harness has 10 pins yes it will work.
the rest of the trim wires and such will require an adapter and your current tach wont work unless its been replaced with one that is selectable for 2 and 4 stroke,2 or 3 wire trim and 6 or 12 pole altenator.
swap is easy.

I checked it is a 10 pin connector. The rest I will have to take in to get someone else to do. When you mention easy , do you mean taking one engine off and putting the other one on?

I mean the whole job.
however I have done it for a living since I was 15 or so and I am 48 now .
long enough I dont wanna do it anymore

Long enough you should not have to, tell someone else to do it an dyou watch/supervise/inspect...
