Evinrude 1962 18 HP running problems

This motor has not been used for some years, when running the fuel seems to cut out when trying to increase speed.

The carb probably needs to be cleaned. If it hasn't been run in years put in a new impeller before running it. No sense ruining a good motor. Look in the top secret file at the top of this forum for awakening a sleeping outboard. It will walk you through what needs to be done.

I assume that you meen the water pump impeller. Is this available thru Napa or would you suggest for the best source to purchase.

Please purchase your parts thru this awesome website.Not only are the prices great,but,you will help keep it running so we can all benefit from the FREE advice.Given the age of that engine,you should consider replacing all fuel lines withlines that wont breakdown from the newr fuel additives,even prior to ethonol problems are out there.I suggest fuelpump and carb kits as well.Good Luck
