extra holes in a Starcraft

Hello fellow Starcrafters, I'm working on my 1965 Starcraft Nassau and wouldn't you know it has had a multitude of depth finders on it and I have about 9 extra holes from previous mountings. I have looked at rivits and such but haven't come up with a solution yet. I am sure that y'all have dealt with this so I'm looking for your advise Thanks in advance

Howdy CaptMills mostly it depends on the size of the holes . Smaller ones are best done with a closed end rivet larger ones are best done with stainless nuts and bolts and some 3M 4200 sealant. The other option would be to have them welded up but that will make the aluminum brittle unless you find a welder who really knows what they are doing with aluminum. We need to see pictures pf this fine craft .

I was curious if a closed end rivit would work, I'll try that. Placed a couple of pics on a post. Still working on the pic thing. Need to start a new thread. Having lots of fun with the Starcraft...motor,tilt trim, floor, you name it.

CaptMills I am pretty good with holes in the Hull I had 30 extra holes in the bottom of my hull where some numskull put in wood stringers in her with screws through the hull form underneath . I used close end rivets in all of them and they sem to be doing their job and I havent put the Gluvit in her yet . I just got mine back on the trailer recently and water tested her with all the rain we have had and the Bow to low . I had lots of fun getting the bow up with her full of water LOL.

Rick, I read that post, makes you wonder about folkslove all the advise on this forum. As soon as the young'un gets freed up Im going to get a new thead started showing progress (sadly he knows alot more about this stuff than I do) I'm too old to be a computer geek

LOL I understand I have to ask the Teenagers for help regularly . I wil watch for your resto thread . When you get the youngin over there have him set you up a Live Messenger account theres a PILE of us Starcrafters that get together regularly for chats about our boats and just generally BS .Also make sure to take a look at the Get together thread we are Planning for Lake Anna, Virginia next summer theres a link at the bottom of my posts.
