got a surprise last week. was able to score a covered slip at bull frog last week for 4-play.
was heading down this week any way and thinking of heading to mead when the nights got to cold a powell. now most likly not. will have water till dec and 2-30 amp power heads.

QC you were asking for a report on the B III.
well the merc prop chart said i needed a 24 pitch prop set and they were right. i bought a 22 pitch because it seemed i was always a little over pitched when i tried to use this chart on the a-1. had it out at 6500 ft ele. and got 41 gps mph at 4500 rpm. top before was 43 mph. with the a-1 and 17 pitch to 21 pitch props and last drive was a 1:65 to 1. this would be great at this ele. but will be running at lower more so will be looking to pick up a pair of 24's. all in all very happy not near as much wig wag at lower no wake speed and backs up straighter. really snappy handling. it always has planed quick, but i would say it planes now, at 6500' like it did at 1000' before. also when trimming up the a-1, running on plane, i could play with the trim up and down a little and the gps would respond with each input. now it gets its speed and unless i trim a lot it holds that speed steady? also can run at 18 mph and not have to dink with the throttle to keep on plane like before the only draw back i have and not a big deal+might get back with prop pitch change. before 3000 rpm netted 28-30 mph. this was a real nice speed for economy and motor rpm. every thing seems to run real nice there. now 3000 rpm is 25 mph or 3500 rpm to get 29 mph.

Re: powell this winter

I noticed the trim issue with a Bravo 3 and a Cruiser before myself, but attributed it to the weight of the boat because I didn't have previous experience with the same boat and say an Alpha or Bravo 1. I guess I'd wait on the 24's to determine if the cruise RPM will get closer to what you were used to. Cool results though. Jealous about the Bulfrog slip.

Not sure if you've ever hung out at Oak Bay (near Rainbow), but it seemed to be a premium hang out spot for the seasoned Houseboaters. Busier than I hoped, but the reason I mention is the Houseboats that were in there were not related and each did a little fireworks show every night. Made for some pretty cool entertainment ;) :)

Re: powell this winter

thanks QC; will have to check it out.we started at the east end and work our way down. we were in escalante last. we should have good winter exploring now. i still cant get over getting a slip on a call. they had 3 to choose from. 2 a bf and 1 a halls.

last year it cost 240 and 60 for trailer at las vegas bay marina. b f is 280 and 30 for trailer but get covered slip for that. so that kinda surprised us. we're all ready thinking about holding on to it for awhile. dry storage in the park there would be 50 by its self. if we figure that we rationalize the slip to 250 a month.
that makes good boating sense????

i'll have to get you guy some picts as we go along
