Can anyone tell me anything about this boat. I live in Puerto Rico and I'm about to order this boat from the manufacturer. The boat will cost around $40k brand new with a 150 Yamaha four stroke. I now the price is high but that is how it goes here in PR. We have to add shipping, taxes, etc..

I just want to see if anyone out there has tried this boat. What are your thoughts? Anything will be greatly appreciated.

This boat is made by Nautic group they make different brands including: Rinker, Polar, Polar Kraft, Hurricane, etc

Looks like an awesome boat. Love the layout. Price seems good for it. However, do you really want to get a brand new boat with the minimum power? That boat is max rated at 250. The formula commonly used here on iboats is that you want at least 70% of the max rated HP for acceptable performance. That's 175 in this case. I'd like that boat even more with an upgraded motor.

Thanks for the reply. If you want to research the boat look for the Polar 2100DC it is the same boat they just changed the name. I agree with you on the engine but I think it will increase the price tag significantly.

It probably will. However it will also increase your resale value considerably. Just something to think about.

Re: Atlantic Fishing Boats 215 DC

I'm not sure how drastic it is with outboards....but I know with I/O's many boats in the 17-20' size range are usually offered with a base 4 cyl powerplant and usually V6 and V8 options. The 6 and 8's fair much better on resale. Lots of people looking to move up from the 4 after they realize they are short on power. Not too many people ever say they wish they had less horsepower. A bigger motor loafing can have similar fuel usage to a smaller motor working hard. With a serious fishing boat like the one you're looking at buyers are often looking for the ability to "outrun the storm". In a segment where a lot of comparable boats are running twins, the last thing you want is a single that is underpowered. Heck of a nice boat though!

Thanks again...the difference in price is $5100 for the Yami 4S 200HP and $3500 for an Envirude E-tec 200. I think I reached my limit $$$ with the 150HP. Do you think I will be underpowered? Right now I don't care very much about speed. I'm always like this even with cars. Safety is a major concern for me and I would love to have twin engines but right now I can't afford it.
