Yamaha 4stroke 150hp loud shifting

I have a 2006 150, when I shift into reverse it make a postive loud sound, I would not call it grinding, but it seems louder, then it shoul be. The local dealer where I purchaed to boat, is usless, I have 3 more years on the extened warrantee, should I tow it,an hour away to the next closest dealer, or is this normal.

Probably normal, but if your idle is set a bit high, the "clunk" on engagement would be more pronounced and not so good for those dogs in the gearbox. Maybe check and lower the idle to the 750RPM range.
