I had a friend that said guys were still fishing late into october/early Nov.

I thought everyone would be off the water by then.

My guess is that it just depends on the weather. We are on our lakes till they freeze, and sometimes they freeze early and sometimes it's late when they do.

If they are trailering outboards they could go till the water freezes.

My guess is most I/O's should be mothballed within the next few weeks.

Up here for whatever reason most guys give up around this time of the year. If my boat was done I would be out until the bitter (pun intended) end. The biggest problem is they pull the docks around mid October so having a friend to go with that can back a trailer is a definite plus. I actually prefer going out when there is a chill in the air and the leaves start changing colour. Changes the scenery and just looks awesome.

It's nice when the snow is falling.

Too cold for me.

End of October is it for us in the Parry Sound area. Mostly that's becuase the cabin water system is at more risk than the outboard :D. Got a heated line into the lake but everything else is susceptible to ice-up.

Really, boat traffic drops right off Labour day and is almost nonexistant after (Canadian) Thanksgiving in this area.
