What foam do I use?

I had to remove the foam to make some hull repairs to my Fishmaster. My question is what replacement foam should I use? It is for between the wooden deck and aluminum hull so I do not have any fiberglass / solvent issues to worry about.

Is the stuff from Lowes or Home Depot okay?

I have no experiences with it myself Yet, but that is what most of the others that have redone their STARCRAFTS have been using. The pink or blue from home depot or lowes or whoever has it in your area. Check out some of the resto threads and see how they did it.

I do not know what that stuff is...

uscomposites has what you need. 2LB Density Urethane foam. 16LB kit will cover 8 Cu Ft. for $62.00. 8 Cu Ft will provide 480 lb of flotation. Hope this helps...

MK, the stuff from HD or Lowes is exactly what you want to use. It's Extruded Polystyrene and won't absorb moisture like the white expanded (bead board) or cause corrosion with the aluminum like the liquid stuff.

Will the stuff in the spray cans work? There seem to be two kinds, one that expands and one that does not.

Meerkat you want the pink sheets like the other Starcraft members have said and shown in an aluminum boat the spray foams and 2 part foams is not a good idea as it will cause the aluminum to carode when it soaks up water .
