I'm ordering parts for my rebuild and have a question about the crankcase seal rings. I've included a link to a scan of the exploded view from my parts manual. The rings are listed as Reference #22--Crankshaft seal ring-- and Reference #60--Crankcase seal ring set--on the exploded view. The part numbers associated with those are:

#22-->#310041. Quantity listed as 1.
#60-->#378427 Quantity listed as 1.

Am I correct in thinking that only (1) SET of #60 is needed-which includes (2) individual rings-and (1) single #22 is needed? This would be a total of (3) rings for the crankcase. Are the rings #22 and #60 different sizes? OR, are all the rings the same size and #22 just refers to a single part whereas #60 refers to a set of all of the rings that are needed for that crankcase? Thanks.

22 and 60 are different part #'s therefore you need to buy seperatly,a set includes all that is needed,I cant see the part list ,but if there were more than 1 perticular part needed it would mention to the total quantity ,the set includes all needed,I looked up on the BRP website,they only start at 1968 but a 85 hp is broke down like yours parts identicle just about and thats how I drew that conclusion ,not able to see your part list.I have done alot of OMC ordering and that is how it works,again a set includes all,it dont come as a single unit,but when the quantity says a total of 2 pieces are needed ,each needs to be ordered seperatly,you can by one ,though it may take more than one

every other part # that has more than one shows the quantity ,so I would conclude that you need 1 number 22 and 1 number 60 and ,60 has a set,they must be different sizes therefore the different part number,the later yrs are all the same size,
