a couple questions. whats the procedure to flush/drain the raw water (saltwater) part of the cooling system? also, am i correct to assume that gravity will drain the drive once removed? i have a full closed system so block and manifolds have 50/50 antifreeze mix in them already as well as half the heat exchanger. i am removing the outdrive and batteries all cabin cushions and removable vinyl seats and all canvas and storing that in my basement. plan to change oil and filter, replace fuel filters, top off gas tank and add sta-bil, then fog. what i think ill have left is heat exchanger, risers, raw water inlet hose (possibly in line power steering cooler?) and hoses from the exchanger to the risers and y pipe. should i just flush these out with muffs before i remove drive and that's it? use salt away? flush with antifreeze? maybe remove hoses to risers and blow out any water left?

thanx in advance
paul

If you plan on changing the oil and filter, and the boat is running on muffs, then you will be flushing the raw water cooling system.
Yes, you have to drain the raw water side of the cooling system, and make sure the antifreeze is low enough temperature wise for your area. Antifreeze in the system good for only 10 above, isn't going to help much at 20 below there in NY.
Have you checked the winteriation posts in the Adults only sticky at the top of the forum?

hehe... Maybe you should make it in all capitals with some funky looking word art lettering surrounded by blinking/flashing stars... Maybe then people would see it :)
