Re: Advice for wooden/fiberglassed boat?

Major correction on the boat information.

I actually spoke to the guy who made the boat. He's 88 now I think. In the late 50's he drove cab here on the coast. In 1959 he drew up the plans while he was taking breaks in his cab. He said he saw a boat that he liked and decided to make one. The boat was completed in 1960 when his friend bugged him to bring it to a boat show where it received alot of attention. Apparently there was no prize for this beauty.

Anyway, he really appreciates the fact that I am restoring it..."more than..(I)..know". So when I'm finished it, I'll bring it to him to see and hopefully take it out for a ride. He is ill so I'm trying to complete it soon but it is more work than I thought. I had to remove the fiberglass from the bottom and put new stuff on with epoxy. There has be ALOT of filling and sanding! I'm currently wet sanding the transom to make the clear epoxy like glass to show the ribbon mahogany beneath.

When I have more time I'll post pictures.

Take a half-tablespoon of sandalwood powder and add just enough water so that it takes the form of a paste. Then apply it all over your face, including the neck and hands, in an upward direction. After it dries completely, wash your face, neck and hands with lukewarm water. This treatment helps prevent oily skin?s accompanying acne and blackheads.

Corn flour and rice powder ? Exfoliating is absolutely necessary for those with oily skin so that moisture levels can become balanced and excess dead skin cells can be removed. One of the most effective and easy exfoliating agents to make and use is rice powder. Take one tablespoon of rice powder, one tablespoon of corn flour, mix it together and sprinkle some lemon juice on top. Mix it into a paste; add a little water if the paste is too thick. Then apply the paste on your face, massaging it into your skin in a gentle, upward motion. The rice powder will facilitate the removal of dead cells while the lemon juice refreshes and stimulates the nerves. The natural chemicals present in the lemon juice also can help cure dark spots that are often a by-product of oily skin.
