Suzuki oil injection considering removal?

I have a 1995 Suzuki Dt75 with oil injection system that works fine without any problems, and I know form what I have heard that Suzuki's oil injections are among the best. However I was considering disconnecting the system to run pre-mix as a precautionary measure... I do also the alarm connected that works... no gauge hooked up though. (I have a monitor gauge but am in need of a harness to hook it up, got one?) My question is thus; do i continue running the injection system and not worry about it, or do i switch to pre-mix? If i do disconnect the injection system, does anybody have any tips... my manual is kinda vague on the subject. where and how should i disconnect the pump, hoses, alarm wires, and flow sensor? should i leave them connected and just plug the pump? doesn't seem right... Or should I disconnect and/or remove all components? thanks for all the help on this and past ans future help!!! tight lines, Matt...

Re: Suzuki oil injection considering removal?

Hi Matt,
This is just my opinion but if it's not broke don't fix it. The Suzuki oil injectors are very reliable. If you forget to add oil with your injector on you'll have an alarm to tell you so and if you run out it'll shut down to prevent damage to your engine. It also will automatically adjust the right amount of oil to match the rpms as you increase and decrease your throttle. This insures you are always getting the correct amount of oil needed to run your motor at different rpms. Without it you are always having to guess the amount of gas left and how much oil to add each time you fill up. You know what happens in the case if oil doesn't get added. The only alarm you'll get is when the engine locks up. :) Also if you ever loan your boat out the person you lent it to may forget to add oil. Just my opinion but I'd leave it. Hope this helps with your decision. Good Luck.

If you leave it injected you will def save more money on oil because it dosnt burn as much as pre mixing it. But if you dont care you can plug off the injector port but if there is no reason to i would leave it. Ive done it to alot of my two stroke's and you wont notice a diff, so i'd say not worth it but up to you. good luck

I would leave it. Considered it on mine '85 DT115. However, after removing the tank for a cleaning, replacing hoses and inspecting the system, I saw the advantages of leaving it and I feel very comfortable with it...

Re: Suzuki oil injection considering removal?

Thank you to everyone for you help in this decision... I was having problems with a lean sneeze for a while with my Suzuki dt75 and could never quite put my ringer on the problem. It would run great sometimes, and others would act very strange as far as the fuel squeeze ball and such. apparently the Suzuki connector on the motor side was tentatively faulty. when i checked the fuel lines repeatedly and the connector. it was always functioning correctly, but one morning about 530 am at the ramp in port canaveral, i was pissed cause the thing wouldn't start after i dragged my *** all the way to the beach that early... I wanted to catch a fish! i disconnected the connector and just the fuel hose straight into the fuel pump line with an open coupler... what do ya know, it ran great all day and has been since... Everyone made good points about suzuki's oil injection system... im definately gonna keep it on... thanks
