Hi I have a 1987 225 Looper That I just can't make it stop
from running with the key or cut-off swicth

What happen is that when you turn the key off it shuts down three cylinders
I've chased what I thought was a bad ground wire going to the keyswitch
I have even taken the b/y wire at the switch and used a jumper wire to ground it out. still won't shut down

You have two packs on that motor. Each one has a black/yellow wire that hooks to the wiring at the terminal block on the back of the motor.
One of the packs probably does not have it's black/yellow wire connected, or it is simply defective.

Thank you I will check that next . I am also changing the Diodes on the black/yellow wire. I'll tell you how it goes
