Hey guys ive got a 97 yamaha 130 (2-cycle) with Spark only going to the right side of the engine(from the back). Was curious if someone with a manual could tell me how to properly test the Stator + CDI to make sure thats not it. The only other thing I can think of is that its in some type of "limp mode", but im not sure if I need to test for continuity or lack of it, for the Oil reservoir sensor. Im pretty sure i read somewhere that the engine will "limp" if the oil sensor trips. I swapped the coils form the left to the right, but the problem didnt follow. I have no idea why only the right side is getting spark.

I believe I have read that a stater may cause that . Do a forum search for the problem and see what you can find on your modle # and how to test.
You should get a manual for your motor to help with all of the maintinence and trouble shooting unless you like paying someone else to do it for you. It would be a lot faster than trying to find it somewhere.

Wow, thank you alot. Im assuming i have pull the flywheel to get to the pulsors. Is it possible that a low oil alarm would trip this? Also, what can I do to test to make sure the buzzer is working, I dont hear it when i first goto start the engine? Under the dash, or on the engine?

I do not know that much about your motor but you should be able to test most everything without pulling flywheel. Get you hands on a manual or spend hours and hours searching the forums for answers.
Try pulling the pink wire off of the temperature switch and ground the harness side to the block with the key on and it should sound the alsrm buzzer

Thank you, I just needed to have a state established, so i know the buzzer should sound. Ill do my trouble shooting from there.

What should i read for ohm-age across the pulsers? 200-400ohms? 3v roughly when cranking? Also what wires do i test for ohm-age across with the Stator? And form what ive read I need to look for over 100v AC when cranking? Is this correct?

Well I tested Ohmage across the points for the pulsers and they each read around 350 ohms. I dont understand why its not running on the left bank, could it be the stator? Would somone please tell me which wires to check and what they should read from the stator?

The problems was found to be the Chrage coils, I pulled the flywheel and noticed the charge coils were trashed. Thanks again guys.
