Hello Friends. I have a 3 wire tilt motor that I just brought new. It cost over 400.00. I need to no if I have to have a relay installed or can I have it hooked up direct to the battery and to the 3 post switch. Will I burn up the motor if I do not use a relay or a solenoid??? Can anyone tell me if I got to use a relay.... Can I do without it??

Most PTT systems use solenoids for the three wire motors. Heavy duty switches could be used, however, the heavy duty switches and heavy wiring that is necessary, make it cost more than the solenoids.

I already have the heavy 10GA 30AMP wire installed and a 30 AMP 3 way spring return switch installed. WHat do you think??? Can I run the motor without the relay??
