15hp force conversion kit

I am building a boat for my son and would like to convert a 1996 15hp force from a tiller to remote. I have done some research and spoke to a few repair shops here in Buffalo, NY. Most say to sell my outboard and start fresh. My problem is the engine looks and runs like brand new and i would like to make it work. Does anyone have any suggestions where i may locate a "remote control conversion kit" or even a part number. Any help would be appreciated. Stay safe.

You're not getting much response here so I'll chime in. Never have I ever seen a Force that small setup as a remote engine. If you want a good remote engine in that size class, look for a JohnnyRude in the 15hp category - plenty of parts available as well as good controls. The pre-Mercury Force/US Marine remote controls weren't that hot anyway.

In my neck of the woods, we all got plenty of tiller experience before we moved up to the remotes. Some of us wiser one's saw the advantages of the tiller and never looked back.

I also own a 15 hp Force that I may want to use remotely using stick stearing. Would you mind telling me where you found the remote kit ? and how much $$ ?

i purchased my parts at sea way marine 206-937-7373 and power house 1-888-752-4539 both places very nice and helpfull. give them a try.
