winterizing 5.0 alpha question?

Excuse my ignorance as this is my first season and first boat. I have a Q6 tahoe with 5.0 alpha I am preparing to winterize. I think I`ve got my list down, but having searched the topic am confused about running anti freeze thru the engine. I assumed that i have a closed system and always have anti freeze in the engine and would just replace my antifreeze. The merc manual talks about running anti freeze thru and then replenishing. What am I missing?:redface:

Ayuh,... Unless you've got a radiator cap on a tank in the motor bay,...

Go down to the I/O- motors forum,...
