This has turned into a hijack, but there continues to be interest, so I'll continue the hijack
I can't really tell you how that particular dock is anchored as I have never been there . . . It happens to be at Roosevelt, which is outside of Phoenix. Here are some pictures of the ramps at Lake Mead, and you can see similar width and their length. They seem to illustrate my point that between full and the very bottom of the existing ramp you couldn't really hurt them by power loading. I say existing because today the lake is so low (120+ ft. down from "full pool") that they are extending these mega ramps just to reach the water. At this point power loading would have a similar effect as you guys consider as there is an
end. This spring the lake will be 20 ft. up (I hope) and then you're back on the mega ramp.

This ^^^^^ is where we have Launched for 20 years and it is now gone. They moved it to the right and connected with Hemenway.
Speaking of moving marinas . . . another point of interest with regard to Mead is that they have now moved entire Marinas about four times. This is half of what was once Overton Beach which is solid mud now. This chunk ended up at Callville Bay where I do launch sometimes. The following links are to more pics of the move. They claim that when this whole thing went through "the Narrows" that there was only 3 ft. clearance on each side (sheer canyon walls) and they did it at night. Then there is a great article about this whole issue called Chasing the Water . . . and to the point of this whole thing, and responding to Mike, it has some limited detail on the anchors etc. and how they move it as the water drops.
