I went out fishing on the weekend and the trim gauge is not working.

I checked the wires under the dash and everything looks ok.

Does anybody know what I can do or check?

the motor is a Suzuki DF115 and the boat is a Lund if it matters.

Thanks

Have you checked the sending unit at the motor? The Yamaha ones are plastic and can break from time to time.

I don't know Suzuki but it should be on the motor and make contact with the stationary part of the motor bracket. Try and google it for a pic

The sending unit is usually bolted to the fixed part of the transom mount with the tilting portion of the mount operating the lever of the sender. You can move the lever manually to check the operation. The sender is a variable resistor so a test meter can be used to check if it is working.

Hi Guys

I found the problem, the wire to the sender was completely ripped of the sender. Don't know how it happened it was parked in the water while I was gone. It wouldn't suprise me if a muskrat thought it would be good for his home....

Thanks
