Just joined the site, bought a 2003 Bayliner 185 about a month ago. Just in time to test drive it and have it winterized & stored for the winter. Boy this is going to be a long 6 months. At least it will give me time to surf this site. :D

Thanks, since I am new to the whole boating community, where should I start and what is good reading? FYI, I have been around boats for along time this is just the first time I have owned one myself.

Ahoy mate, welcome aboard.:D

Congrats on the new boat. Don't feel bad, even those of us who have had boats for a time feel the same way about winter.:( Well, at least those of us who have a winter. Those lucky southern boaters...

Lot's and lot's of good reading.

Re: New Member saying hello

Welcome,

I did the same thing last year! Then ripped the boat apart and added a bunch of things over the winter (see 1999 Bayliner resto-mod link below)... Just sold that boat and waiting for my cover maker to finish cover to take new boat out this weekend for the first maiden voyage. Only to go directly into storage for 6 months. This group is great helping me get through the winter months! And everything possible to do with boating!

Congrats on the boat! You will find this site very useful and informative - I have. Lots of very knowledgeable boaters who are very willing to help in this crowd. I feel for you guys that have to put your boat away for the winter. I am from So Cal. Good luck and spring will be here before you know it!

Twinz welcome aboard the good ship iboats:)

I'm going thru "winter denial" myself. I still plan on running a few more tanks of gas thru my outboard that I got two weeks ago:) It's getting in the 30s here so I just need to get geared up with layers.

Feel free to work on you boat over the winter- I just got a spaceheater for that reason.:D

Pick out a few projects for the winter. Like a wake tower or add cool electronics. you'd rather be wishing you installed differently than wish you had installed altogether.

Brother, I feel your pain. I just ordered a boat that I won't be able to use until spring. Tick, tick, tick... Welcome to the site from another new member.

My only winter project will be dreaming since the boat is in storage 15 miles away all shrunk wrapped. I wish it was in my garage, I would seal the doors and fill the garage with water just to go for a spin :D
