Need replacement Rotor for 1965 Johnson 75HP Super Seahorse Outboard motor

Where can I find a replacement rotor for a 1965 75HP Johnson Super Seahorse with a magneto type disributor. I have searched several internet parts sites with no luck.

The magneto distributor rotor is part number 580260, from any Evinrude dealer. Or on-line from www.sea-way.com Be prepared, they are over $40.

The battery ignition rotor is 580338

Plug wires come off the bottom of the magneto cap, off the side of the battery ignition.

Why do you think you need one? At that price you better be sure it's the fix.

I don't know if his is bad or not, but the rotors are notorious for arcing through to the shaft. They burn an almost invisible pin hole through the plastic. New ones come with a small gob of insulating grease inside to help prevent that.
